The 70-year-old singer is back on stage for a new tour, entitled “In my strings”. This return is motivated by an important change in his life.

Renaud’s new tour, “In my ropes”, begins on Tuesday in the new Scala Provence room in Avignon. An unexpected tour announced by surprise at the end of last year and linked to an important change in his life.

Renaud is in love, singer Dave reveals on BFMTV: “He met a young woman. I think he wants to impress her too. That’s what made him want to show her that he can do it and that he can do it.”

40 dates by July 15

Far from the splendor of the “Phénix Tour” in 2017, “Dans mes cords” will be an intimate tour, with a few musicians (accordion, violin, piano). Rehearsals started ten days ago.

“Every day, he arrives at the same time. [Il est] very punctual. He settles down on his stool and the first words he says to us are ‘next’. He does it more for us than for himself. He considers himself ready,” says pianist Alain Lanty, who is also the tour’s musical director.

Fitness cure, exercises, voice coaching courses: Renaud has taken things in hand for his new tour. Despite a damaged voice, the phoenix is ready to be reborn once again. “He doesn’t have stage fright”, sums up Alain Lanty.

This tour will be spread over 40 dates, which will begin on January 24 in Avignon, and end at the Francofolies in La Rochelle on July 14 and 15. Dates are planned in particular at La Scala in Paris on May 9 and 10. At the Casino de Paris on May 26 and 27. And at L’Olympia on May 30 and 31.

The singer has not been back on stage since the ‘Phénix Tour’ in September 2017. He had since released two albums, Kids and Kids First!on the theme of childhood, and metica cover album of his favorite French songs.
