Ricardo Montaner’s publication with his granddaughter Índigo caused controversy due to the pronoun he used to describe her: “she”. Although it may sound confusing to some people, both Camilo and Evaluna decided that they were not going to pigeonhole her in a gender until she grew up a little more and she could say.
For now, young parents have left Indigo as gender non-binary, so many users have taken Montaner’s description as disrespectful to parents.
