California, United States.- Justin Roiland, one of the creators of the animated series Rick and Morty and actor of the voices of the two main characters, awaits his trial after being accused of domestic violence against an ex-girlfriend.

A criminal complaint, obtained Thursday from prosecutors in California’s Orange County, charges Roiland, 42, with bodily harm and imprisonment for threat, fraud, violence or deception against the woman, with whom he lived. back then.

The woman is not identified in court documents and Roiland has pleaded not guilty.

The incident occurred in January 2020 and Roiland was indicted in May 2022, but the charges appeared to go largely unnoticed by the media until NBC News reported them on Thursday, when a pretrial hearing was held in the case.
