Not content with the great commercial success of its Hot Wheels Unleashed, and with overwhelming the video game landscape of its apps dedicated to two wheels (Monster Energy Supercross, MotoGP, SBK et MXGP), Milestone is putting a layer of rubber back on its road tires by announcing RIDE 5. A title that the editor defines as “the most authentic racing simulation experience possible“.

To leave is to rot a tire

RIDE 5 will therefore follow in the footsteps of his elder RIDE 4 (as it is original) and will offer a pure and hard simulation. On the content side, the title highlights a scripted Career mode offering four main paths. This Career will be punctuated by predefined events with specific victory conditions that must be met in order to advance to the next stages. Like MotoGP 23, a system of rivals will be included, each with their own personality. You will obviously have to defeat them to move up the rankings.
For the first time in the series, RIDE will offer a dynamic weather system that “calculates circuit and air temperature in real time to generate realistic weather changes during races, adding a whole new strategic dimension to racing“. Graphically and technically, Milestone aims for ultra-realism, but also intends to offer driving aids for a more flexible learning curve than in previous opuses.

Finally, note the return of the possibility of playing several locally via split screen. A feature that has disappeared from the radar since RIDE 2… For fans of online racing, cross-play between consoles will be included (PS5 against Xbox Series), as well as on PC (Epic against Steam). RIDE 5 will arrive August 24, 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
