The Civil Protection has published a report reporting that during the last 48 hours, including the period of the celebration of Eid, 481 traffic accidents have occurred in several regions of the country.

These accidents led to the death of 6 people and injured 426 others. The wilaya of Saïda was the most affected with three deaths and three injuries following the overturning of a vehicle on wilaya road number 36. Civil protection also fought five fires in the wilayas of Algiers, Bordj Bou Arreridj, Mostaganem, Tamanrasset and Touggourt.

Civil Protection also had to intervene to provide assistance to 23 people who were poisoned by carbon monoxide from heating devices in their respective homes. The wilayas affected by these cases are Algiers (4 people), Médéa (3), Sétif (7), Guelma (7) and Oum El Bouaghi (2).

The ban on motorcycles and noisy cars comes into force from today

This Sunday, the national gendarmerie confirmed the ban on motorcycles with an engine of more than 125 cubic centimeters and noisy vehicles will no longer be able to circulate between 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. These measures follow two decisions by the capital’s wali.

The major, Samir Bouchita, said that the measures concerning motorcycles and cars came into force on Sunday. Any violation will result in the impoundment of the vehicle for a period of eight days, and 15 days in the event of a repeat offense, as well as costs to be borne by the offender.
