A few weeks ago, it became clear that Daisy Ridley would be reprising her role as Rey Skywalker in the sequel Star Wars: New Jedi Order, which was met with confusion by fans worldwide. Now it seems the actress was close to being replaced if screenwriter Damon Lindelof, who dropped out of the project, had his way.

According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, who shared this information via The Hot Mic podcast, Lindelof’s script is set 60 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. There, a much older Rey would train two new Padawans, one male and one female. However, Disney threw out this script and now New Jedi Order will instead take place 15 years later.

Incidentally, this information is not confirmed, so take this with a grain of salt. As usual. Do you want to see this movie?

Somehow, Daisy Ridley returned!
