Ryse: Son of Rome turns 10 in November 2023 and was originally released as an exclusive Xbox One game in 2013, where it served as a kind of tech demo showing what the console was capable of with amazing graphics from Crytek (in fact, it still looks great today). Unfortunately, it didn’t have as impressive gameplay and lacked variety, but many people still liked it and have since asked for more, and it also sold really well on Xbox One and later on PC.

When Crytek out of the blue shared a tweet about the game a few days ago, they got a clear proof of how loved this game actually is. It ended up reaching over 175,000 people (and counting) thanks to a ton of social media shares, with literally tons of people praising the title in the comments section. Among other things, we can read:

BLiTTZ: “Ryse is such an underrated game, sequel please!!”

Zer0e: “Literally just started playing this 2 days ago (finally/sorry). I can see why so many want a sequel.”

Leandro Algalord Warrior: “every moment of the game gave me fond memories. it’s one of the most epic games I’ve ever played and it makes me sad that it didn’t become a franchise or series of games like Gears and Halo”

Ben-Hur Pupo: “This was the most beautiful game that I have ever played. The way you presented the roman empire and the architecture is amazing”

Hopefully, all this love can make Crytek (and possibly Microsoft) realize that there’s a lot of community interest in a new hack-and-slash game set in Rome’s glory days. What do you think, would you like another Ryse adventure or should the series remain buried?
