There is little more than a month left for Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: The Movie, a feature film based on the manga and anime by Naoko Takeuchi, hits theaters in Japan. Therefore, the folks at Toei Animation are releasing the final sneak peeks ahead of the theatrical release.
Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos: The Movie will be divided into two parts. The first opens this June 9, 2023 and the second on the 30th of the same month. There are still no specific details of the premiere (and dubbing) of the film in Latin America.
However, with the advances we already have an idea of where the adventures of the ‘Sailor Girls’ are going. In the most recent advance, published by the official YouTube channel of the series, you could see a trio of characters that is extremely important to the stories.
It is about the ‘Sailor Starlights’. According to a review by Spaghetti Codethe short audiovisual material (it lasts only 20 seconds), has this trio of characters identifying themselves (Fighter, Maker and Healer), just as they did in the manga or anime, in the nineties.
Who are the ‘Sailor Starlights’?
The Sailor Starlights are three alien warriors who come from the planet Kinmoku in the galaxy. Unlike the Sailor Senshi, who always transform into women, the ‘Sailor Starlights’ have the ability to change gender.
In their feminine form, they are called Sailor Star Fighter, Sailor Star Maker y Sailor Star Healer, Mientras que in their male form, they are called Kou Seiya, Kou Taiki, and Kou Yaten, respectively.
These three warriors are leaders of a vigilante group called the Sailor Quartet, a group of four warriors who become the guardians of the princess of Kinmoku, no less than the last survivor of the Sailor Senshi race. Las Sailor Quartet son Sailor Ceres, Sailor Pallas, Sailor Juno y Sailor Vesta.
Returning to the Starlights, the group arrives on Earth in search of its princess, who has reincarnated as Usagi Tsukino, Sailor Moon. Although at first the ‘Sailor Starlights’ do not trust the Sailor Senshi of Earth, they eventually become allies in the fight against the evil ones.
In their human form, the ‘Sailor Starlights’ become a famous boy band called ‘Three Lights’. Their popularity is so great that Usagi and his friends are big fans of them.
During the “Sailor Moon: Sailor Stars” arc, the ‘Sailor Starlights’ become an essential part of the Sailor Senshi’s team in the fight against Sailor Galaxia and her army. Sailor Star Fighter, Sailor Star Maker, and Sailor Star Healer possess unique powers that allow them to transform into weapons for Sailor Moon.
