Harvey Weinstein (70) receives 16 years for rape and sexual assault.

The ex-Hollywood producer was found guilty of three counts of sex crimes in March 2020 in the criminal trial in New York to 23 years in prison.

A judge has now sentenced him to Los Angeles to another 16 years behind bars, again on rape charges. He will probably not get out of prison alive, because he is now serving a total of 39 years.

Weinstein himself had pleaded innocent in court in LA: “I claim that I am innocent. I have never raped or sexually abused Jane Doe 1.” The plaintiff was also in the room during his speech and burst into tears.

Because: Only shortly before she had to describe Weinstein’s assault to the judge. “Before that night I was a very happy and confident woman. I valued myself and the relationship I had with God,” said the plaintiff, identified only as “Jane Doe 1” at trial.

And further: “I was nervous about my future. Everything changed after the defendant brutally attacked me. There is no prison sentence long enough to undo the damage.”

The revelations about Weinstein led to the emergence of the #MeToo movement a good five years ago. In total, nearly 90 women, including the Hollywood Stars Angelina Jolie, 47, Gwyneth Paltrow, 50, and Salma Hayek, 56, accused Weinstein of molestation or assault.
