It seems that SEGA is preparing to launch a new version of Sonic Origins under the name of sonic origins plus as this is indicated by a new record made by the company in the country of South Korea. Previously, video game announcements have been made thanks to registrations in this region, so we only have to wait for an official confirmation from SEGA.

a few days ago the South Korean Gaming Classification and Administration Committee made a new registration from SEGA for Sonic Origins Plus, which has yet to be officially announced. However, in the past SEGA has used the term “Plus” for versions with additional content, so they could be planning this for Sonic Origins.

Sonic Origins is a compilation and remaster of the first games in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, which arrived in the middle of last year and includes Sonic The Hedgehog, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles. At the moment it is unknown what additional content the newly classified Sonic Origins Plus could offer.

Some examples of these collections include the Sonic Mega Collection, which originally arrived in 2002 with Mega Drive/Genesis games, but two years later became the Sonic Mega Collection Plus with six other Game Gear games. Similarly, Sonic Mania received its Sonic Mania Plus version with a new Encore Mode and new playable characters.

At the moment, the last release from SEGA was Sonic Colors Ultimate on Steam a few days ago, which came along with discounts of up to 75% for all the blue hedgehog games in the Valve store on PC, including Sonic Origins.
