Senator Rubio introduces law against Chinese genetic monitoring

MIAMI.- The Florida senator marco rubio introduced new legislation to ban the use of genetic material by China to “abuse” human rights in that country.

With this objective, USA should “discontinue” the supply of genetic technology to the Chinese, according to the proposal of the Republican lawmaker, who maintains a strong stance against the interests of the Chinese regime in the West and elsewhere in the world.

“The United States is under no obligation to support crimes against humanity committed by China. We cannot allow Beijing to continue using our technology to violate the human rights of its own people. That is why I am introducing China’s Genetic Monitoring Stop Law,” the legislator stated.

Rubio further stated that “this law would cut off the supply of American genetic technology to China and send a clear message that we will not tolerate human rights abuses by China.”

According to a Rubio press release, China is stealing genetic data from Americans and, at the same time, “oppressing its own people” through the use of genetic technology.

China is pushing programs to “take by force” genetic information from Uyghurs, Tibetans and other ethnic groups as a “crime-fighting” measure. China is pushing programs to “take by force” genetic information from Uyghurs, Tibetans and other ethnic groups as a “crime-fighting” measure.

Tens of thousands of Uyghurs have fled China in recent years after dictator Xi Jinping launched a two-pronged policy of subjugation and assimilation through mass arrests in re-education camps and the uprooting of Uyghurs who are sent to work outside their region.

An estimated 1 million or more people, mostly Uyghurs, have been confined to re-education camps in Xinjiang in recent years, according to researchers. Torture, rape and beatings against these people have also been denounced.

The Republican senator believes that this new norm would serve to confront the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its “genocidal regime.”

Earlier this month, Rubio sent a letter to the CEO of the Moderna laboratory, Stéphane Bancel, about the recently announced partnership between the pharmaceutical company and China.

This deal would allow the communist regime to “research and manufacture new mRNA drugs,” as well as granting the country exclusive access to intellectual property related to those drugs.

Senator Rubio’s letter addresses these concerns, especially as to whether the pharmaceutical company will protect technology “funded by American taxpayers to the tune of billions of dollars.”

Stopping China’s genetic monitoring would mean adding genetic sampling and testing kits, analytical technology and software to the US Bureau of Industry and Security’s Trade Control List.

Rubio believes that all of these factors represent a threat to national security.
