The Sennheiser IE 200 is the newest in-ear headphone from the German audio equipment manufacturer. The last wired in-ear headset from the brand was the IE 600, as Oficina da Net reported in March 2022. But before this there was still the announcement of the IE 900, which is the TOTL (Top of the line) of Sennheiser IEMs and was unveiled in May 2021.
The IE 200 is the smaller brother of the IE 300, as it costs literally half the price, arriving at US$ 150 in the US. However, there is no way to talk about its sound, as the opinions we had about the Sennheiser IE 600 were a great surprise, where some even went so far as to say that they preferred it to the IE 900. Jermo Koehnke says:
The Sennheiser IE 200 represents an open invitation for everyone to enjoy high-quality sound. With realistic and balanced audio reproduction, users will be able to hear the details they are missing from regular headphones.
Sennheiser IE 200 gets a new cable design
For those who are already familiar with the Sennheiser IE series and its latest releases, as in my case, where I did the Sennheiser IE 300 review, the first thing that strikes you when viewing the images of the new in-ear IE 200 is the cable. Now there is no longer a thick rubber coating along the entire cable. The company decided to follow the traditional cable format used by custom in-ear headphones (CIEMs or custom in-ear monitors) [1]where there are 4 braided ways giving great flexibility and lightness.

What’s in the box
As with the IE 600, the Sennheiser IE 200 comes with 2 sets of ear tips (“tips”) in 3 sizes each: one made of silicone and the other made of memory foam. However, there is only one cable with SE 3.5mm single-ended plug and MMCX connector here instead of an extra cable with 4.4mm balanced connector. [2] as it comes in the Sennheiser IE 600. We also have a small bag to store the headphone and ear tips.

Release and availability
The Sennheiser IE 200 will be released in the US on January 31, 2023 for $149.99. There is still no forecast for the launch of the in-ear in our country, but Sennheiser Brasil has already posted the announcement of the launch of the headset on Instagram.
