American singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley, died Thursday at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to US media citing her family.
“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” confirmed her mother, Priscilla Presley, in a statement published in People magazine. The singer had been taken to the hospital after her assistant found her unconscious at her home in Calabasas, Los Angeles County.
The message comes after the singer was reported in critical condition after being induced into a coma and her mother asked people on social networks to keep her “in their prayers”.
According to the American celebrity media TMZ, which also confirmed Presley’s death, this Thursday she received first aid and was assisted by paramedics at her home located in Calabasas (California) after suffering heart problems.
Before being transferred, the medical specialists managed to recover the singer’s pulse and once she arrived at the hospital, her life was assisted with a pacemaker.
This week, the daughter of the Rock and Roll star was seen at the Golden Globes gala with her mother, Priscilla Presley, who accompanied actor Austin Butler, one of the winners of the night for his role as Elvis Presley in Baz Luhrmann’s film.
Lisa Marie Presley was the only daughter of the iconic singer and mother of four children, including American actress and filmmaker Riley Keough. Presley followed in her father’s footsteps and in 2003 she released her first album, “To Whom it May Concern”, and this was followed by two more productions, but since 2012 she had not released any new album.
He formed direct musical ties with his father, adding his voice to Elvis recordings like “In the Ghetto” and “Don’t Cry Daddy,” a mournful ballad that had reminded him of the early death of his mother (and Lisa Marie’s grandmother). , Gladys Presley.

Elvis Presley died in August 1977. Lisa Marie was then staying at Graceland and would recall kissing her goodnight hours before collapsing and never recovering. The next time she saw him, she was lying face down in the bathroom.
“I had a feeling,” he told Rolling Stone in 2003. “It wasn’t right. All I know is that I had it (a feeling) and it happened. She was obsessed with death from a very young age.”

Jackson and Presley were married in the Dominican Republic in 1994, but the marriage ended two years later and was marked by numerous awkward appearances, including an unexpected kiss from Jackson during the MTV Video Music Awards and a joint interview with Diane Sawyer in which he defended her husband from allegations that he had sexually abused a minor.
Her other marriage to Nicolas Cage was even shorter, as he filed for divorce four months after getting married in 2002.
Lisa Marie helped with numerous humanitarian causes, from anti-poverty programs administered through the Elvis Presley Charitable Foundation to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts.
Presley had two children, actor Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough, with Danny Keough. She also had twin daughters with her ex-husband Michael Lockwood.
Benjamin Keough committed suicide in 2020 at the age of 27.
“I have dealt with death, pain and loss since I was 9 years old. I have had more than necessary in my life and somehow I have come this far, ”she wrote in an essay shared by People magazine.
“But this, the death of my precious, precious son? The sweetest, most amazing being I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing, who made me feel so honored every day to be his mother? Lisa Marie became the sole heir to the Elvis Presley Trust after her father’s death. Along with Elvis Presley Enterprises, she managed Graceland and other assets until she sold her majority interest in it in 2005. She retained ownership of the Graceland mansion, the 30 acres surrounding it, and the objects inside the house. Her son is buried there, along with her father and other members of the Presley family.
