Snoop Dogg to carry Olympic torch on final day of relay

PARS.- The American rapper Snoop Dogg be one of the torch bearers olmpica This Friday, July 26, on the last day of the sacred flame relay before the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games from Pars.

Snoop Dogg will carry the torch through the streets of Saint-Denis, a working-class suburb north of Paris that is ethnically diverse and home to the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre, the city’s mayor, Mathieu Hanotin, told AFP.

Other bearers in Saint-Denis will be French actress Laetitia Casta, French rapper MC Solaar and former Ukrainian pole vault champion Sergui Bubka.

The Olympic torch has been travelling across France for two months and on Friday will pass through the athletes’ village, located between Saint-Denis and neighbouring Saint-Ouen, before heading to the Olympic Stadium and Aquatics Centre, a few kilometres away.

Snoop Dogg’s performance at the Olympics

Snoop Dogg, 52, was born in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, which will host the next Games in 2028.

The torch relay will not be the rapper’s only appearance at the 2024 Games, as he will also be an Olympic commentator for American television network NBC.
