Juarez City.- Students of the Bachelor of Tourism of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez (UACJ) participated in the traditional gastronomic exhibition that takes place year after year, which had the title “Delight your taste with the flavor of the stars”.

Ana María Valero Quezada, coordinator of the Tourism Degree, mentioned that on this occasion 21 modules were built and occupied by four groups: Restaurant Operation, Bar Operation and Management, Organization of Congresses and Conventions, and the Gastronomy Workshop, totaling a total of 100 students of this career.

Six judges were used to rate their work: chefs and mixologists from restaurants and bars in Ciudad Juárez and El Paso.

“The design of the dish or preparation of the drink, combinations, textures, cooking, as well as the elements they used, creativity and the live preparation of some dishes to see their preparation techniques,” he said in relation to the criteria for the qualification.

This is the XX Gastronomic Show, its purpose has been for students to apply the knowledge acquired in the classroom and in the gastronomy laboratory in a public event, so the invitation was open to the general population, he said.

For this sample there were about 30 sponsors among restaurants, bars and other tourist companies in the city.

The role of these sponsors was to help them with the materials they use to make the dishes “so that the investment would not be too much for the young people. In addition, they help them in terms of the design of the dish with the support of their chefs”, mentioned Valero Quezada.

Among those present, characters such as Michael Jackson, Marilyn Monroe, Freddie Mercury, Selena Quintanilla, etc., were appreciated, because each module was thematic, alluding to the name of this meeting “Delight your taste with the flavor of the stars”, so which also had a red carpet.
