As the release of System Shock Remake, Prime Matter and Nightdive Studios nears announced today that the 1994 remake of the cult game System Shock had gone gold.

System Shock Remake features a revamped take on classic gameplay, with HD graphics, updated controls, a revamped interface, and new music and sounds. Players will experience new enemies, quality of life improvements, an overhauled hacking system, and visceral new combat options with a brutal dismemberment system.

Players will face hostile, mutating creatures created and controlled by SHODAN, the infamous artificial intelligence that rebelled against its creators in the original game. Players will also need to solve puzzles and use their hacking skills to progress through new areas of Citadel Station.

Nightdive Studios worked closely with many of the original System Shock team members, including the voice of SHODAN, Terri Brosius.

System Shock Remake is therefore scheduled for May 30 on PC, then later on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
