CARACAS.- The Venezuelan opposition candidateEdmundo Gonzalez Urrutiaclosed his election campaign and sent a message to citizens in which he thanked them for their active mobilization during the national tour and insisted that the advantage he has is historic.
“A phrase that has been said to me repeatedly is: You are my last hope“I want to tell you that you are the hope. You have filled me with strength and courage to face what has undoubtedly been the most unequal electoral campaign in the history of electoral processes in Venezuela. Our future depends on you,” he said.
In this regard, he said that while it is true that the dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro controls the powers of the State, the opposition unit has the support and backing of the majority of Venezuelans.
“People are tired of so many lies, so much mistreatment. We have a historic advantage in a process of this type, which makes it clear that we are going to win and we are going to get paid.”
On July 25, the electoral campaign ended, giving Venezuelans two days to reflect and decide who they will vote for on July 28.
