This Monday the blind of the National University of La Plata is lifted for the entrants of two of the 17 faculties, which concentrate a little more than 10 percent of the 33 thousand registrations received so far.
At the Faculty of Engineering, this morning they are expecting some 1,300 students who have already advanced with the admission procedures since the end of last year.
Mathematics for Engineering “Mate PI” is the subject that the entrants of a dozen careers will take. It is dictated in the intensive modality, in person, until the end of February. Classes will be daily (Monday to Friday) for four to five hours.
As reported by the Faculty, the study material of the chair can be downloaded from the website in digital format or purchased in print at the CEILP (FI Student Center) at 47 between 1 and 115.
COMPUTING
In computing, the activities for entrants begin between today and Monday the 30th.
In the last registration operation, this academic unit reached the order of 1,900 registration forms, a figure that placed it among the most sought after at UNLP.
This first opening is for the computer engineering degree, which gathered 329 registrations. While at the end of this month it will be for bachelor’s degrees.
The activity will be carried out in person. The five careers that are dictated in the Faculty are the following: Bachelor of Systems; Degree in computer science; Computer Engineering (delivered in conjunction with the Faculty of Engineering of the UNLP); University Programmer Analyst; and Analyst in Information and Communication Technologies.
The UNLP offers 115 degree courses in 17 faculties. At the request of the sanction of the reform applied in 2015 to the Higher Education Law, the courses cannot be restrictive.
According to the information provided by the faculties, the starting point of the activities for entrants in Agronomy, the Observatory, Economic Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Exact Sciences, Law and Dentistry was set for next week. Psychology and Social Work start on February 6. Also that week, with differentiated schemes according to the career, the activity in Humanities will be launched.
The Faculty of Natural Sciences will be the last to start, on February 22.
Although there will still be opportunities to enroll in some faculties, the operation for this cycle advanced in the most important numbers, leaving a record number of 33,000 students interested in undergraduate courses.
According to the provisional detail that was released in December (since they are still processing data in the faculties and some will reopen registrations in February and March), from the total number of registered in the academic units it is clear that Medicine will once again do the greater influx. It already has 4,471 registered, which under the terms of the regulations, are considered entrants. To this number we must add the records for the careers of the School of Human Resources of that same faculty, 2,756.
In the academic field, it was estimated that the final figure could rise even higher, once the final data of the operation is analyzed. Thus, this academic unit continues to grow strongly since the cancellation of the qualifying entrance exam, in 20215. In half a decade, it went from around 3,000 to 33,000 students. That represents one in four who attends the UNLP.
In enrollees, Medicine is followed by the faculties of Psychology (3,452), Humanities (3,443), Arts (3,043), Law (2,632), Economic Sciences (2,441) and Computer Science (1,983), among the most sought after for training in undergraduate courses. .
After the electronic presentation, the interest must be confirmed with the entry of personal documentation at the time that each faculty requires it.
For the 2021 school year, in this same instance, the enrollees were 32,161.
