Just yesterday, we were talking about the postponement of The Day Before for a rather unusual reason. The studio declared indeed to have problems with the filing of the name of the game in the USA, obviously attracting the wrath of the players, suspecting a little more the dishonesty of Fntastic. Faced with the general outcry, the teams and the publisher once again spoke.

Fntastic explains the postponement

It’s in the columns of
IGN
that we were entitled to more details concerning this postponement. According to the publisher, the decision to postpone the game was made before the teams knew about the trademark issues; the publisher had planned to announce it via the gameplay video promised for the end of January:

We planned to delay the release of the game before, and planned to announce it with Mytona [ndlr : l’éditeur du jeu] in a 10 minute gameplay video. And then you all know what happened. So to be sure, to make sure there are no further postponements, we, together with the publisher, chose November 10th. It’s a safe date, given the trademark dispute.

Regarding the concerns related to the trademark registration, the studio is confident and adds that the postponement will be an opportunity to better prepare for the release and that it will be even more successful, optimized and filled with content.

We are very confident that this issue will be resolved as we have strong legal partners. This additional time will allow us to better prepare for the game’s release and to make general improvements to the game. It will be even more mature, optimized and filled with content.

“We didn’t take a single penny from people”

On the sidelines of these explanations on the postponement, the studio also wanted to express itself on the various accusations of which it is regularly the subject, especially after these recent events. Accusations of scam are often mentioned on social networks, suggesting that the game was not really in development.

Here is the press release responding to the fears of the players:

The storm will eventually calm down, and time will put everything in its place. When the game comes out, people will finally see the truth. But while we are here, we are grateful for such a fantastic trip and for your presence with us.

For us and millions of people, The Day Before is a childhood dream come true. It’s a game with zombies and other people in a huge post-apocalyptic city. We understand that some players, not seeing the whole picture, may have doubts about the game. We have always focused on the product itself.

It’s been four years since we made the game. All those years have been filled with sweat and blood to make this game, and for many members of our team, it is unpleasant to hear such accusations. We didn’t take a penny from people: no crowdfunding, no pre-orders, no donations. The game is fully funded by Mytona, one of the world’s largest mobile game publishers, who have checked the game’s construction at every major stage in accordance with our contract.

We had a real inner breakthrough when we set out to take on big challenges from the start – so big that some would consider them impossible.

“Taking a fantastic journey from the end of the world, we feel like the simple guy from 90s action movies. You probably remember him as the hero who breaks through the veil of disbelief when no one believes in him, but he finds the inner strength to win and prove to everyone what he is worth in the end. »

We only believe in the end product. Whatever people say, you’ll see it for yourself on November 10. We hope that after the success of the game, we will give people faith that in this life, if you persevere towards a dream, it will come true, despite all the obstacles and doubts.

Remember that if The Day Before will be released on November 10 on PC, it is also planned for Xbox and PlayStation, without further details. We wish good luck to the teams who will certainly be eagerly awaited by the players when the game is released.
