The series The Last of Us arrives in a few days on HBO Max and the first episode should mark the spirits in more than one way since it will be a movie.

Highly anticipated by fans and the curious, the series The Last of Us will arrive on HBO Max on January 15 and should follow suit with us although we still do not know where or when it will be broadcast in France exactly. Anyway, the first episode of the series should be particularly significant, on the one hand because the fans of the game know how the terrible journey of Joel begins, on the other hand because it will obviously have a lot to show us.

The Last of Us series will start with an XXL episode

The duration of this pilot episode has indeed been revealed and it is confirmed that it will last almost 1h30, approximately 85 minutes to be exact. In short, it’s a film, although current feature films tend to go far beyond an hour and a half these days, or even double that time like the interplanetary cardboard that is Avatar 2 and its three big hours of film.

Anyway, the series The Last of Us will get off to a flying start and should immediately immerse us in its universe. It is said that the show will be very faithful to the original game while allowing itself to bring even more consistency to the characters that players already know at their fingertips. In addition, huge secrets of the game could be revealed there and new surprises, like new creatures, are also expected.

What is certain is that HBO and Neil Druckmann are betting very big on this adaptation. The creator of the license even admitted recently that he hoped that this series could break the curse that hangs over the film adaptations of our favorite video games. As a reminder, it is thanks to Druckmann that we avoided the worst since originally, Sony wanted a complete film and the latter very nearly turned into a mindless blockbuster.
