A leak of Halo Infinite has revealed voice lines for the well-known game mode “InfectionThis is a relief to many fans, who are hoping that Halo Infinite will finally add this iconic type of game to the catalogue.

When Halo Infinite first released in 2021, it received a mixed reception from fans, as it was missing many features that had become franchise staples. One notable exclusion was the Forge mode, which finally arrived in November 2022.

The response to the developer was so negative that Xbox boss Phil Spencer had to release a statement reaffirming the importance of 343 Industries to Halo moving forward, after rumors suggested he would step down from running the franchise.

It would be an unusual turnaround, given that 343 Industries was created for the sole purpose of taking over the Halo franchise.

Now, a new leak, from the Halo Leaks YouTube channel, has shown the voice lines of the currently unpublished “Infection” game type. Featured in the footage is the iconic Jeff Steitzer announcer, who has narrated multiplayer since 2001’s Halo Combat Evolved.

Additionally, there are voice lines from Iratus of the Banished, suggesting that the Infection announcer can change based on the player’s team. This is backed up by an earlier Halo Infinite Season 3 Alpha leak, which suggested there would be a big focus on Infection mode in 2023, with Iratus taking the lead.
