About a year ago, Nvidia’s new gaming flagship Geforce RTX 4090 was released. Now Asus is coming up with an extreme variant including an all-in-one water cooling system that allows you to… Pinnacle of gaming performance
want to have achieved.
More specifically, it’s about the ROG Matrix RTX 4090 Platinum. It was already presented in May 2023 and is now coming according to a new one Blog entry on the market. However, it is a limited product – so if you want the extremely expensive graphics card, you have to be quick.
Price and availability: The graphics card is not (yet) listed at German retailers, but it should arrive at retailers next week or at the latest in the first week of October.
The RRP is a more than proud 3,399 euros. For comparison: Normal
RTX 4090 models currently start at around 1,600 euros. But what’s special about this GPU?
This is what makes the Asus graphics card so extreme
The ROG Matrix RTX 4090 Platinum not only uses all-in-one water cooling for cooling, but also for the first time Liquid metal as a conductive agent.
According to Asus, this allows this highest boost clock speed, which currently has an RTX 4090 graphics card ex works. To be more precise, it is 2,700 MHz.
Asus also emphasizes the specially developed cold plate
. It should not only cool the GPU optimally, but also the voltage converters and the memory chips.
The design seen above with a so-called hollow chamber
including indirect RGB lighting and direct RGB lighting on the radiator does its part to make the graphics card stand out from the crowd.
Is the extreme graphics card worth it?
It can be assumed that the ROG Matrix RTX 4090 Platinum is currently the fastest gaming graphics card out of the box. However, its advantage over other models of the RTX 4090 will not be large, as it is still the same GPU.
Both Asus and probably (or hopefully) the potential buyers of this card are aware of this. It is a limited luxury product for well-heeled gamers that deliberately wants to set extreme standards. It only gets even more extreme in the professional sector:

What do you think about the new Asus graphics card? A completely legitimate luxury product that you can definitely imagine buying if you have the money? Absolutely unnecessary bells and whistles that wouldn’t fit into your gaming PC? Or something in between? Feel free to write it in the comments!
