The stoppage of interurban bus lines continues, affecting thousands of users from La Plata. This is a measure of force by the workers of the company Transporte Automotor La Plata (Line 338) due to a conflict that affects the service since Saturday for those who travel from our city to different points in the Buenos Aires suburbs.

This morning, in a tour that EL DIA made, long lines could be seen waiting for the units despite the fact that they did not reach the docks, where the strike for an “indefinite period” was announced with a sign. The truth is that the 338 does not reach the City and neither does the 406 line due to the measure of force that has as its main axis the wage claim that will keep it without service.

It should be noted that the 338 runs the road from La Plata to San Isidro, passing through La Matanza, Lomas de Zamora, Morón and General San Martín, among other destinations in Greater Buenos Aires. Line 406 runs from La Matanza to Almirante Brown passing through Esteban Echeverría and Lomas de Zamora.

As learned by the union delegates, the employees have not yet received their April salary and stressed that “all colleagues have to report to the company at their corresponding times to meet the workday in the establishment.”

Thus, during this weekend there was no interzonal service, which affected many users who could not go to visit family, friends or carry out other activities that they had planned for the last hours of Friday, all of Saturday and yesterday. and that extends this Monday.

The measure of force does not have a completion date so far, so it will remain suspended indefinitely. It was initiated at dawn on Saturday, May 6, and was confirmed by the company’s workers, who claim to suffer “constant delays in the last months of the payment of salaries and bonuses.” As it became known, the company would have justified that “it did not receive the subsidy from the national state that they had been promised,” said one of the workers.
