In this summer of 2023, The Witcher made its return to Netflix: part 1 of season 3 was put online on June 29, followed on July 27 by part 2 which marked the departure of Henry Cavill. The adventures of Ciri, Geralt and Yennefer were a hit on the streaming platform. You may also be one of the fans who binge-watched the episodes… but have you noticed this change in actor for season 3? Nothing, the series’ antagonist was recast in the third season. The character appeared in season 2: we discovered him locked in a prison in Cintra until Lydia van Bredevoort offered to hire him to capture Ciri. During his journey, he kidnaps Jaskier and tortures him to make him reveal the whereabouts of Geralt and Ciri. Luckily for Jaskier, Yennefer comes to his rescue.

In season 3, Rience redoubles her efforts to find Ciri. Perhaps you found it different? Although his face is still half burned, he seems changed. And for good reason ! The actor who played him in season 2 of The Witcher was replaced in season 3. Chris Fulton gave way to Sam Woolf.
