There are 22 dead after fire in a nursing home in Russia

In a video released by the emergency services, several fire trucks are seen stationed near the small establishment, among charred rubble. The interior of the building was completely burned.

It should be noted that this private nursing home was illegal, according to a security source, cited by Tass. The Investigation Committee opened a file for “negligence that caused the death of two or more people.”

Investigators accuse “a 31-year-old man” of having “rented a private house as a temporary residence to people” of the elderly, according to a statement from the committee. The alleged origin of the fire could be “a defective stove,” the investigators said.
