These are the 4th of July events in Miami-Dade, are you ready to celebrate?

MIAMI.- The United States celebrates its independence this July 4th, and like every year, there are many celebrations planned in South Florida for this special date.

In Miami-Dade, the County announced the “4th of July Kickoff Celebration,” a massive event taking place at Tropical Park, where the public will find food trucks, family activities and other attractions.

The Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, in partnership with Univision, said the event will take place between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. To access the space designated for this activity, the parks agency asked the community to use the Bird Road entrance (40th Street), since the Miller Road entrance (56th Street) will be closed.

A live DJ, Univision talent performances, a family fun zone, prizes and raffles, a park clean-up activity, a water show, a drone lighting activity and a fireworks display, among others, are announced.

Luces en Bayfront Park

As for Miami, county and city officials anticipated a celebration that typically draws thousands of people. The Fourth of July celebration in Bayfront Park returns this year with a star-studded lineup of music, food vendors and friendly competition.

This annual event, which is highly anticipated by the community, begins at 4:00 pm and runs until 9:00 pm, culminating in a grand fireworks display. The festivities at this venue begin with a contest to see who can eat the most hot dogs. Ten pre-selected participants will compete for a cash prize of $200.

Throughout the afternoon and into the evening, guests will enjoy food from a variety of vendors and live performances by a talented lineup of artists, including the US Navy Brass Band, Aymée Nuviola, The Latin Divos, Roxy Nodarse, Genesis Díaz and Maylú, with Jeffry Batista as master of ceremonies.

Homestead

For those living further south in Miami-Dade County, Homestead is also planning its annual “Race to the 4th” event, a lineup filled with live music, entertainment, delicious food, exciting kid-friendly rides and a grand fireworks finale.

This celebration will take place this Thursday, July 4th, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, located at 1 Ralph Sanchez Speedway Blvd, Homestead, FL 33035.

The event will kick off with live music performances. Food lovers will be in for a treat as “Race to the 4th” will feature a variety of food trucks and stalls offering a variety of culinary delights. Families and children will have plenty of entertainment options to choose from, including exciting rides and games that will keep the little ones busy and entertained throughout the event.

Miami Beach

If you want to be close to the ocean, another option is a Miami Beach-style Fourth of July celebration, with an afternoon of music and family activities culminating in a drone show and fireworks on the beach, part of the annual “Fire on the Fourth” event.

Commemorative activities will take place at a new location at Altos del Mar Park, as well as at the Miami Beach Bandshell. The public will be able to enjoy a variety of activities, including food trucks and a family area with a climbing wall, an inflatable soccer dart game, an obstacle course, giant yard games and an imagination playground.

The Miami Beach Bandshell, at 7275 Collins Ave., will transform into a free outdoor nightclub from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring music by Lolo and DJ Hottpants of Sweat Records.

Coral Gables

The City of Coral Gables and the Biltmore Hotel invited the community to attend a fireworks celebration at the historic hotel facility located at 1200 Anastasia Avenue.

The golf course will open at 5:00 p.m. with a pre-show concert by Navy Band Southeast. A concert by the Greater Miami Symphonic Band Ft. Navy Band Southeast will begin at 7:00 p.m., while the traditional fireworks show is announced for the evening at 9:00 p.m.

Miami Lakes

The City of Miami Lakes is hosting a celebration with live entertainment, food, drinks and an “Inclusive Sensory Zone,” which aims to remove barriers that prevent people with special needs from participating in community events.

The fireworks extravaganza will begin at 9:00 p.m. at Veterans Park and admission and parking are announced to be free.
