A blooming branch in a vase is sometimes more effective than a full bouquet of flowers. With small inserts, many new vases help to set the right form and color in the light.

Frankfurt/Main – Only a few flowers without greenery around them, if not just a single branch: That is the big trend in floristry. Instead of tightly bound bouquets, only individual pieces are arranged. There are a number of ideas to make this easier to do.

For example, the Miyabi vase by Blomus with a hidden grid in the vase water, in the gaps in which you only put one flower and arrange it. The That company came up with a similar solution: a holder for a thin branch is embedded in the wide glass vase.

Eleven small holes for eleven flowers

The elongated Rhizome vase by Klatt Objects doesn’t have an opening, but eleven small holes, each of which has a shoot. You can also get creative yourself, as the design agency Bora.Herke.Palmisano showed at its curated trend show at the Ambiente consumer goods fair in Frankfurt. Take a wide branch with cracks, paint it a nice color, lay it flat and stick individual flowering shoots into the crack.

Aid for Japanese trend floristry Ikebana

With all these ideas, a trend called ikebana is easier to implement. This is a centuries-old art of floristry, which is currently very popular. It’s not about creating the most opulent, dense bouquet possible with lots of flowers or bouquets with eye-catching colors.

It is deliberately about seeing little and letting every single blossom come into its own. If you want to arrange a few flowers and twigs, you need space between them to give space for contemplation – the many new vases on the market help with this. dpa
