This afternoon will be the presentation of the National Volunteer Firefighters Insurance for 58,000 firefighters and firefighters from all over the country. It will be in charge of the president, Alberto Fernández, and the Minister of Social Development, Victoria Tolosa Paz.
Regarding this initiative, it was explained in a statement that “it is an unprecedented measure since it includes compensation for death, compensation for total or partial permanent disability, medical-pharmaceutical assistance and burial expenses for all the people who make up the fire brigades volunteers from the country.
It was reported that it is part “of the new Law to Strengthen the National System of Volunteer Firefighters No. 27,629, sanctioned by Congress and promulgated by the Executive in June 2021, with the purpose that the brigade members who save lives and protect the assets of the community, can count on resources to provide that service that they provide voluntarily”.
The national insurance was developed through the coordinated work between the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation, the National Council of Firefighters, Banco Nación and Nación Seguros.
They explained that “during the last three years the national government has invested $13,173 million pesos to strengthen the system of volunteer firefighters and firefighters throughout the country,” and that “through the Ministry of Security, they invested in subsidies and also in financing for computer equipment, forestry kits, operational equipment and tanks and for storage of drinking water”.
