Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg relive a war conflict with Masters of the Air

MIAMI.- There are never too many productions based on war conflicts, since there are many stories that have derived from the multiple wars that the world has experienced. Now, a new series comes to the small screen that promises to reveal the struggle and anguish that a group of air soldiers experienced when they left the United States with the aim of bombing the trenches of the soldiers of Nazi Germany.

Masters of the Air is the new bet Apple Tv+, produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg y Gary Goetzman.

The series has a total of seven episodes and revives the participation of the 100th Bomb Group unit of the American aviation, which was known as The Bloody Hundredth, during the Second War.

This group of soldiers was known for carrying out extreme bombing raids.

However, beyond the operations and feats achieved, the production seeks to expose the psychological, physical and emotional impact that the soldiers suffered in those days of war. The synopsis highlights that despite being a successful armed group, some of its members were captured, others shot down, injured and even killed.

“Some lucky ones managed to return home. Despite their individual fates, they all paid a price,” adds the series description.

Series details

Masters of the Air brings together a talented group of actors such as Austin Butler, who plays Major Gale Cleven, and Barry Keoghan, playing Lt. Curtis Biddick; both actual pilots of the 100th Bombardment Group.

Callum Turner, David Shields, Ncuti Gatwa, Anthony Boyle, Nate Mann, Rafferty Law, Josiah Cross and Branden Cook are also part of the cast.

It was also known that an important detail in the development of the series was to recreate the cockpits of the B-17 and P-51 bombers with the latest generation CGI, in order to give the production a more realistic narrative of the context that It narrates, as well as shows the reality of what the war was like.

The production arrives on Apple TV+ on January 26 with the premiere of two episodes. The rest of the chapters will be released every Friday until March 15.

Other Hanks projects
