MIAMI.- The authorities of the National Hurricane Center On Sunday, they issued a warning about a tropical disturbance located in the Atlantic Ocean, heading towards the Caribbean, with a 40% potential to develop and become a tropical cyclone by the end of the week.
According to the advisory issued for the North Atlantic, the Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico, this is an area of disturbed weather over the central tropical Atlantic, and is expected to interact with an approaching tropical wave during the next few days. This could favor a tropical depression that could form in the middle or end of the week.
As reported by the New York Postthe latest NHC outlook projects the system heading in the general direction of Florida or the southeast coast. Additionally, if the system were to strengthen into a tropical storm, it would be named Debby, the fourth named storm of the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season.
Water temperatures continue to warm in the Atlantic and Gulf of Mexico, with recent readings generally in the mid to upper 80s.
The current hurricane season, which began on June 1, runs through November 30.
