Tropical storm Dora forms off the Mexican Pacific coast

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Tropical Storm Dora formed Tuesday off Mexico’s Pacific coast but poses no threat on land, according to the US National Hurricane Center.

Although they expect the storm to strengthen, forecasters reported that the storm is moving west and away from the mainland.

The center reported that Dora was located early Tuesday 445 kilometers southwest of the port of Manzanillo. It had winds of 65 km/h and was moving west-northwest at 26 km/h.

Although the storm may reach hurricane strength in the coming days, it is expected to continue moving further out into the Pacific Ocean.
