The National University of Buenos Aires (UBA) opened this Friday, February 3, registration for its Common Basic Cycle (CBC) 2023 and its UBA XXI courses. From the house of higher studies, they expect the registration of some 60,000 students to attend the first semester.

Entrants can register from today, and until February 17, through the CBC website, cbc.uba.ar and from UBA XXI, ubaxxi.uba.ar.

The Common Basic Cycle (CBC) consists of six compulsory subjects with the possibility of taking up to three per semester: two depending on the orientation in which the chosen career is included (“Social and Human Sciences”, “Biological and Health Sciences” or “Exact Sciences, Technology and Design”); two common or equivalent to most of the careers (Introduction to the Knowledge of Society and the State and Introduction to Scientific Thought); and two specific to the selected career.

In some careers the CBC acquires certain particularities: the careers dependent on the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism (FADU) in addition to the six subjects mentioned, have an annual drawing workshop.

In the careers of the Faculty of Economic Sciences, the first year is called the first section of the General Cycle, and for those whose duration is less than four years, the CBC comprises between 1 and 4 subjects.

“In the first subjects of the career as part of a Common Basic Cycle, it is expected that the student can begin to know the various disciplines from a broad vision, strengthen their knowledge and skills in information management and learn to assume responsibilities within university education”, they explained from the UBA through a statement.
