The promised and so-called strategic restructuring of the European gaming giant Ubisoft continues and this time the executioner’s ax falls on its customer service where nearly 60 people are expected to be forced to leave their jobs. The cuts were confirmed in a statement to Eurogamer where a representative explained the situation as follows:

“Ubisoft’s Customer Relation Center team is evolving its organisation to focus on where we can have a significant impact while remaining steadfast in our commitment to consistently support our players anywhere in the world,”

The representative specified that it is about 60 positions spread between the United States and Great Britain.

“We estimate that, due to organisational changes, 60 team members from our offices in Cary, North Carolina in the US and Newcastle in the UK could be impacted.”

A developer on Twitter who is one of those affected explained during the day on Twitter how he had his service withdrawn without any warning and was now desperate to find something new. Incredibly sad of course and we wish all those affected the best of luck in their future search for new jobs. Sad also for all customers who will also notice and be affected by this.
What do you think about cutting so brutally on such a central and important function as customer service?

“Hello and welcome to Ubisoft customer service, we can’t answer right now but leave your name and number and we’ll call you back as soon as we can”
