The heat wave seems to have settled in to stay for several days in the Region. And this morning it can be felt strongly since the weather is unbearable, where the thermometer at 11 o’clock was already at 30º, according to the National Meteorological Service.

Yesterday the “peak” of temperature and wind chill was recorded at two in the afternoon (34 degrees, 35 degrees, respectively) and they remained that high for a little more than two hours.

For this reason, the municipal Hydrometeorology Department raised the alert to “yellow” for the risks that such a rise in heat entails. As anticipated, this classification will be maintained, in principle, until today, although it was clarified that it could be extended.

“Today -for yesterday- I woke up with temperatures between 20 and 21 degrees, but they quickly rose to around 24 degrees at 7:30 am. As of this afternoon – yesterday afternoon – we entered a period of high temperatures, for which we raised the level of risk attention to yellow ”, they confirmed from the Directorate.

In addition to the high temperatures, the sun, until it sets, in a completely clear sky, does not give respite. That scenario, according to the National Weather Service, could change as of today, which will be partly cloudy.

On the other hand, they released the maximum on Monday, which were the following:

For today, 35º

As indicated by the body that monitors the climate at the regional level, until today, the City will be under the influence of a hot air mass that will favor the occurrence of minimum temperatures between 21 and 23 degrees and maximum temperatures between 32 and 35 degrees. , “which will bring with it some thermal discomfort,” they pointed out.

Because, as is well known, the persistence of very high temperatures can affect health, the local authorities reiterated some advice to avoid skin damage and dehydration.

It is recommended to drink more water than normal, especially in the elderly, sick and babies, and at the same time increase the intake of fresh foods, vegetables and fruits. It is not recommended to consume alcoholic beverages, sugary soft drinks and hot infusions.

It is also suggested to use light clothing, light colors, and hats or caps to protect the head from the sun in the case of leaving closed places.

In addition, it is essential to use sunscreen and avoid exposing yourself to the sun between 10 and 16.

In the case of babies, the recommendation to keep them cool is added, with constant baths and light clothing.

In the event of any inconvenience, the local lines to communicate are 147 Neighborhood Assistance, 103 Civil Protection and 107 SAME.

How’s the weather going?

According to the SMN forecast, for today a maximum temperature of 33 degrees and a minimum of 22 degrees is expected, with cloudy skies. Tomorrow, which would also be cloudy, the maximum will be 30 degrees and the minimum will remain at 22 degrees.
