Netflix’s new thriller, unfaithful, barely premiered and is already making success among subscribers. The film reached third place in the top 10 streaming and 80% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Written and directed by Patxi Amezcua, the plot mixes the supernatural with the covid-19 pandemic, and tells the story of Saioa Blanco, a young woman who was kidnapped and reappeared three months later.
From that event, two detectives – Samuel and Castro – go in search of clues that help to unravel the motivations behind the kidnapping and those responsible for the crime.
It turns out that, in addition to being involved in the case, they have to deal with the concerns that the coronavirus pandemic has brought. While Samuel is prevented from visiting his sick mother in the hospital, Castro has to be isolated from her husband who is quarantined in a closed room. What they didn’t imagine, however, was that the kidnapping would also be related to covid-19.
As time passes, and the investigation progresses, both discover that teenagers from all over Spain are being kidnapped and killed by a sect that believes that the pandemic is a sign of the apocalypse. So they make an offering to the Celtic god Taranis using the helpless youth.
From that point on, the plot moves forward, maintaining the suspense and pace of the story.

The name of the film comes from the name of the city in which the plot is set. The site is in Asturias, Spain, and is a city surrounded by mines.
