The captain stays on board. As announced by Union Berlin, Christopher Trimmel has extended his contract. For the term of the new working paper, the iron makes no statements. The 35-year-old has been with Union since 2014.
“When I came to Berlin more than eight years ago, the clear goal was to eventually get promoted to the Bundesliga with Union and I was convinced that I would experience something big with Union.”according to Trimmel, “The last few years have been incredibly emotional and formative for the club, but also for me personally. I am very happy that I can continue to experience and help shape everything.”
Sports director Oliver Ruhnert explains: “Christopher has known the club for many years and is an absolute identification figure for players and fans. His sporting achievements speak for themselves and we are happy to have found a good basis for his further Union future with him.
Trimmel has already played 286 competitive games for Union. He scored six goals and 58 assists. The 35-year-old is also in the right-back position this season.
