After knowing the inflation number for March, which climbed to 7.7%, the teachers University and pre-university students held a meeting this Thursday at the Ministry of Education with the Commission for Monitoring the Evolution of Salary to discuss the parity.

“Faced with the current scenario of great instability, we insist on the importance of the salary monitoring commission being operational and able to quickly resolve agreements that allow the purchasing power of our salaries not to be eroded”, pointed out the General Secretary of FAGDUT, Norberto Heyaca.

At the meeting the federations trade unions agreed to advance the salary adjustments of the teachers that had already been agreed, of 7% in May and 7% in June, and take them to 8% for April and one of 6% for May.

The Assistant Secretary, José Gabriele, highlighted the fact that the Education authorities have listened to the request of the federations and “we have managed to meet to renegotiate deadlines and percentages.”

In turn, the Union Secretary of the teachers technology, Ricardo Mozzi, assured that the salary review meeting in June is still in force to guarantee that salaries are not delayed. “We prefer to make short salary agreements to closely monitor inflation,” Mozzi expressed.

The salary agreement signed in March established a 30% adjustment until June, which was distributed as 16% in March, cumulative over the closing of the previous parity, 7% in May and 7% in June, in those non-cumulative cases.

Also the representatives of the National Inter-University Council (CIN) and FAGDUT peers Norberto Heyaca, Ricardo Mozzi and José Gabriele, along with the trade union federations: CONADU, CONADU Histórica, FEDUN, UDA and CTERA.
