US warns Maduro after electoral fraud: our patience is running out

WASHINGTON.- The patience of USA with the regime of Nicolas Maduro is reaching its limit after the recent elections presidential elections in Venezuela which have been widely questioned. The White House warned on Wednesday that his tolerance is at its breaking point due to the lack of transparency in the electoral process that took place last Sunday, July 28.

“I want to point out that our patience, and that of the international community, is running out. We are running out waiting for the Venezuelan electoral authorities to tell the truth and publish all the detailed data of these elections so that everyone can see the results,” he said. National Security Council spokesman John Kirby.

Since the announcement of the results by the National Electoral Council (CNE)which is aligned with the Maduro regime, thousands of Venezuelans have taken to the streets in various cities across the country. The demonstrations have resulted in at least 16 deaths, dozens injured and approximately 750 people arrested, including political leaders accused of terrorism.

The opposition, along with a significant portion of the international community, has questioned the legitimacy of the results provided by the CNE, which gave Maduro a presumed victory with more than 51% of the votes, compared to his main adversary, Edmundo González, with 44.2%. So far, the electoral body has not released the full details of the vote count, a constant demand of the opposition that remains unmet.

With the situation escalating rapidly, pressure on the Venezuelan regime to act transparently and respond to both domestic and international demands is at an all-time high.

The day before, the presidents of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and of the United States, Joe Biden, agreed to request that the voting records be published “immediately.”

The Carter Center, invited by the CNE to observe the elections, said that the presidential elections did not meet “international parameters and standards of electoral integrity.”
