Crowned junior European champion of -91 kg in 2019, the Ile-de-France boxer was killed after a dispute in a night bar in Bonneuil-sur-Marne.
The 23-year-old boxer Wilfried Florentin was killed by firearm on Sunday April 30 after a dispute in a bar in Bonneuil-sur-Marne (Val de Marne). The suspect, targeted by a European arrest warrant, was arrested on Monday May 1 “at Brussels airport, leaving for the Ivory Coast”, according to the parquet floor of Créteil. 35 years old, “it will be handed over to the French authorities by the Belgian authorities”added the prosecution.
Wilfried Florentin, crowned junior European champion of -91 kg in 2019, had been taken care of by firefighters outside the establishment and then transported to hospital early on Sunday morning. He died there later in the day from his injuries, according to the prosecution.
An investigation was opened for intentional homicide and entrusted to the departmental service of the judicial police of Val-de-Marne. According to the testimonies collected by the investigators, “a disagreement” allegedly pitted the suspect against the victim at the scene.
