Miami traffic homicide detectives said Friday that they have exhausted all investigative means and are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident that left a man critically injured and of which they shared images from a surveillance video.
The suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Suburban pickup truck with possible significant damage to the front passenger side and a broken headlight. No information has been obtained from the driver.
On July 23, 2022, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Miami Police officers responded to the call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle at Northwest (NW) 20th Avenue and 36th Street, in Allapattah.
Upon arrival, officers located the victim who was hit by a van. After striking the victim, the van continued without making any attempt to stop.
Surveillance video shows the victim crossing 36th Street from south to north and the SUV traveling west on 36th Street.
The victim was seriously injured and was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where she underwent emergency surgery. The victim is still slowly recovering from her numerous injuries.
