New fuss about the village rockers: Once again, the party rockers are kidding climate activists. This time in connection with a very personal topic.

The new video plays in front of a backdrop that is particularly important to the village rockers: on a farm. As Markus Thomann explains in an interview with t-online, he and his two brothers – who together form the Dorfrocker party band – spent a lot of time on one of these in their childhood. They are “farmer’s grandchildren” because the grandfather ran a farm in Adelsdorf in Middle Franconia.

That’s why the brothers, who live in Kirchaich in Lower Franconia themselves, asked themselves: “What happens to a climate adhesive on the farm?”. And so the latest coup by the three artists has a very personal touch. To put the valuable work of farmers in focus: “the breadwinners of the people”. Thomann says they often don’t get the respect they deserve.

The village rockers have struck again

In the approximately 50-second clip, they sing: “The bulldog doesn’t have a brake” – while driving on a farm with the bulldog towards a climate activist who seems to have stuck to the ground. Then it’s on: “I’d like to drive liquid manure out onto the field, there’s a glue there and I want to demonstrate.”

And then: “But here on my Bulldog, I’m the king.” This is just how the village rocker manages to get past the sit-in. But – oh dear – suddenly there’s a liquid manure shower for the activist gnawing on the carrot.

It is important to you to spread fun, emphasizes Markus Thomann. But also: to show satirically what is going wrong in this country. In her opinion, this includes the forms of protest by climate activists, who would first stick to the streets for climate protection and then fly to Bali on vacation the next day. For the Thomann brothers, this is a double standard, which they have already denounced in several clips – and which each time evoked countless positive reactions.

The new climate liquid manure clip received over 50,000 reactions and 5,000 comments within four days. It was shared more than 30,000 times on Facebook alone. It is a parody of the hit song by Mia Julia, Lorenz Büffel and Malle Anja “The train has no brakes”.

Dispute with Reinhard Mey hit the headlines nationwide

They don’t want anything bad with their work, emphasizes the village rocker on the phone. Rather, they wanted to make people laugh and cheer up the generally gloomy mood.

That almost ended in a legal dispute: After they released a video called “Above the Clouds” with the well-known melody, the author Reinhard Mey came forward and publicly lodged an objection, which hit the headlines nationwide. The village rockers emphasize that their parodies are covered by freedom of art and expression, but took the video out of consideration from the network.

The village rockers are currently in Mallorca for performances at hit parties. What a pleasure not to have to be prepared for roadblocks here, says Thomann with a grin.
