The company Rey Marciali Productions, from CredobaArgentina, brings to the International Hispanic Theater Festival Miami, La Celestina, the classic by Fernando de Rojas, in a version by David Piccotto and Julieta Daga. This is a one-woman show entitled La Celestina, tragicomedy by Lita, performed by Julieta Daga and directed by David Piccotto. The synopsis states: The voices of the classic work by Fernando de Rojas pass through Lita who is in constant danger of death. With her hands she must hold up a set that has fallen on her. The work ter, by Marian Pabn Catal and directed by Julio Ramos, is the proposal that De la Legua Inc., ArteBoricua, from Puerto Rico brings to the 38th edition of the Miami International Hispanic Theatre FestivalIn the play, Sole has dedicated herself to her home and to caring for her paraplegic husband Azael, who is confined to a wheelchair after a car accident. We learn the story of this couple from their first meeting to their marriage. Awkward situations occur and Sole falls into moments of introspection that reveal some dark secrets of the man she loved so much. Narcissus’s Wrath at the Festival

The action of this play, which is being presented at the Hispanic Theatre Festival in Miami representing Venezuela, takes place during the author’s stay in the city of Ljubljana, where he is invited to give a master lecture on the famous myth of Narcissus. The discovery of a disturbing blood stain in the hotel room, which is impossible to clean, will lead to the appearance of a police intrigue that will begin to reveal the macabre details of an extremely violent crime. PEN Writers Club

The PEN International branch for Cuban writers in exile will hold its monthly meeting at the Westchester Library, 9445 Coral Way, Miami, 33165, on Saturday, July 27, at 3 p.m., for an event with writer Francisco Javier Denis, who will present two of his books, El hambre de libertad (The Hunger for Freedom) and Cuando pienso en ti (When I Think of You). Ballet Festival

The 29th edition of the Miami International Ballet Festival (IBFM) is kicking off the galas of its extensive program for 2024. The event, directed by Eriberto Jimenez, is one of the most important dance festivals in the United States, attended each year by more than a hundred dance figures from Europe, South America, Asia and North America. They scream freedom

The award-winning documentary They scream freedom (They Scream Freedom)by American filmmaker Melinda Raebyne, will be presented on Friday, July 26, at 7 pm, at the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora, 1200 Coral Way, Miami, 33XX. The film deals with the struggle of the Cuban people to achieve their freedom during the events of July 11, 2021 throughout the Island. The film has been recognized at the Social World Film Festival (Italy) for best documentary direction; at the Tacoma Film Festival, as best documentary and was awarded the Winning Film Award at the Free Speech Film Festival in Pennsylvania. The film was shown at the Seattle Latino Film Festival and the Social Justice Film Festival, among others.
