As part of compliance with the Ordinance No. 3920/22, which prohibits the circulation on public roads of cars, motorcycles and quadricycles with free exhaust pipes, modified or with devices to generate the so-called “cuts”, this Saturday around 100 exhaust pipes seized in vehicle control operations in the neighboring city of Berisso were compacted.
The activity, which took place this morning at 8 and Avenida Montevideo, was attended by the Undersecretary of Security, Federico Ruiz; the Director of Road Safety, Carlos Rada; the president of the Frente de Todos Bloc, councilor Gabriel Marotte; the coordinator of the Operations and Monitoring Center (COM), Andrew Nikoloff; the head of the police station Fernando Diazthe heads of police stations and traffic inspectors.
“We were able to carry out this compaction thanks to the sanction of the ordinance that was generated from the work mainly of Road Safety personnel, together with the COM, the Misdemeanor Court, the Deliberative Council and the Police that accompanies us in the operations” Ruiz said in this regard. And in that same sense he stressed that “there was a strong claim from the neighbors for the noise caused by motorcycles with these explosions.” “With the Ordinance in force, we had set ourselves the goal that when we reached the kidnapping of the first 100 exhaust pipes we would comply with what we had committed to as management, and today we proceeded with the compaction”he stressed.
The local authorities recalled that, Until the enactment of the current regulations, all motorcycles seized at vehicle controls had to be returned to their owners in the same way they had entered the warehouse, but the new ordinance allows these exhaust pipes to be removed for them to be destroyed.
“Now, with this Ordinance, we were able to develop the operations and remove these types of exhaust pipes from the motorcycles and today we are compacting 100 units responding to the claim of the neighbors,” Ruiz closed in that framework.
