The amazing pinball game Demon’s Tilt is finally getting a sequel, and this time you’ll be able to use firearms and play blackjack with a cat! Xenotilt will be the title of the spectacle that promises even more crazy pinball complete with boss battles and loads of nostalgia. Adam Ferrando who is one of the game’s programmers describes the new game as follows.

“I’m trying to do a maximalist thing. It’s supposed to be aggressively, you know… screaming,”

“The perk system is basically the loudest version of each of those mechanics, but you build up to it—when you start the game it’s still exciting, but you’re building up to something.”

“A lot of retro-inspired games put arbitrary rules on tiles and palettes and stuff, but I don’t really do any of that. The pixels are not one-to-one. The pixels are authored at a higher resolution than most sprite art. I’m playing with scale. I’m really just going for what looks good.”

Xenotilt will be released later this year on PC and support for Steamdeck is promised. Whether or not it will appear on console is still unclear, but given that Demon’s Tilt did, the chances are good. You can check out a short gameplay video from Xenotilt here.

How much of Demon’s Tilt have you played and how excited are you for this sequel?
