The message from Mesa, known for his anti-communist stance, is directed especially towards the ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel, after it was recently learned that the new Citizenship Law in Cuba It could give the president authority to withdraw this condition from some people born on the island.
Mesa published a video with his statements on his TikTok profile @yancomesa14, and also left a text message on the X platform.
“No bureaucratic dictator will have the moral authority to take away my Cuban status. Far from my way of thinking and being anti-communist (…) none of you have the right to take away my Cuban citizenship,” he said.
The young man expressed: “I am Cuban by birth and that citizenship cannot be taken away.” Furthermore, he assured that the island’s authorities are afraid and, in his opinion, that is why “they are putting laws in place to see if they bend” the people.
