They investigate sexual assaults at the boarding school where Lady Di's brother studied

LONDON.- The British police announced today -June 10- that they have launched an investigation into accusations of assault sexual committed against children, including Princess Diana’s brother, in the 1970s in a hospitalized luxury in England.

In a book published in March titled A Very Private SchoolCharles Spencer, the only male brother of the first wife of King Charles III, claimed to have been a victim of sexual assault and corporal punishment when he was a student and boarded at Maidwell Hall, in central England.

The private school, after the book was published, apologized and said it was shocked to learn of these revelations.

“It is hard to read information about practices that, unfortunately, were sometimes considered normal and acceptable at that time,” said the school’s management, adding that the school’s operation had evolved considerably since the 1970s.

Investigation of sexual assaults

Northamptonshire Police said today it had opened an investigation following preliminary inquiries into allegations of abuse at Maidwell Hall.

A police spokesman said they had received several non-recent allegations and asked other potential victims to contact security forces.

Charles Spencer, who entered this establishment at the age of 8, stated in his book that he had been a victim of abuse at the center, when he was 11 years old, by a member of the teaching staff.

“That person chose one boy each quarter to sleep with and have sexual relations with,” Diana Spencer’s brother wrote in the book.

“Her control over the children was total, as we were deprived of feminine warmth and were desperate for attention and affection,” she added.

The author also recounted in the book being hit with the studs of a cricket boot by a Latin teacher.

“Many of us left Maidwell with demons sewn into the seams of our souls,” said the brother of Lady Di.

Charles Spencer, 60, journalist and former member of the House of Lords, is one of the three brothers of Princess Diana, who died in 1997 in a car accident in Paris.
