Venezuelan Film Festival makes history in Margarita

MIAMI.- Venezuela made a new edition of the Festival of the Cine Venezuelan, which was made for the first time on Margarita Island. Faced with this event, the president of Evenpro and the Cinex chain – where the films were shown – offered a balance.

“A festival to remember, a great party where artists, writers, directors, producers, technicians, businessmen, students, famous filmmakers, critics and relevant figures of the seventh national art gathered, said Santiago Otero in a press release.

Likewise, Otero highlighted that during the three days of the festival the screenings began at 9:00 am, with screenings every two hours, which allowed a total of more than 40,000 seats for the entire public and participants in the film meeting.

Given these achievements, the presidency of Evenpro thanked the assistance of the talent that makes life in each area of ​​cinema: directors, products, actors, assistants and more.

“This generation of producers present us with a very professional staging and with their own nuance, which has brought to the big screen realities that they have had to see and live. It is very exciting to welcome cinema friends from all over to our house. Venezuela and different countries, as well as important media outlets that accompany, live and transmit every moment of the festival,” said Otero.

Special recognition

The work of Karina Gómez Franco, direct of the Venezuelan Film Festival, received recognition for the work carried out in the 2024 edition.

“Gómez obtained heartfelt recognition for his perseverance, career and constant effort to elevate our cinema and make it possible for 320 feature films and documentaries of our cinema to compete in the 20 years of the festival,” Evenpro reported.

Film festival made on an island

In this way, Cinex on the island of Margarita was the host of the twentieth edition of the Venezuelan Film Festival, dedicating the complex exclusively – with all its rooms – to the 93 productions presented in the Parque Costa Azul shopping center, which marked a milestone in the history of the festival.

“We can definitely affirm that the festival has had an extraordinary reception in Margarita, making history for our cinema and could become the headquarters for future editions and the Cinex cinema chain is 100% committed to serving as a platform for the development and growth of cinema Venezuelan,” said Santiago Otero.
