On December 6, an egg flies towards King Charles III as the monarch visits the town of Luton, north of London. The egg was thrown by a young Briton who now regrets the act.

London – For throwing eggs at King Charles III. a young Briton has to pay a fine of 100 pounds (112.64 euros). A court in London also sentenced the 21-year-old to pay court costs of £85, as reported by Sky News.

He had previously admitted to throwing an egg at the monarch in the north London town of Luton on December 6. He explained that he was protesting against the King’s visit, which he found distasteful in a disadvantaged and poor area like Luton. His lawyer said the man regretted the crime.

Charles continued dip in the crowd after egg toss

Charles was not hit in the incident. Security forces first took him away from the onlookers who had been waiting for the king. But shortly thereafter, Charles continued his dip in the crowd.

Next Friday, a 23-year-old is on trial in the northern English city of York for a similar crime. He is said to have thrown a total of four eggs at Charles and his wife Camilla in November, but none of them hit. The young man was released on condition that he was not allowed to wear eggs in public except after shopping. dpa
