13 injured in fire at building in Sunset Park, Brooklyn

More than a dozen people, including two firefighters, were injured in a fire at an apartment building in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, on Tuesday, according to authorities.

Firefighters received the emergency call around 8:30 p.m. of the fire at a four-story building at 881 Fifth Ave. between 38th and 39th streets.

The fire was concentrated on the second floor of the building.

Of the injured, 11 are civilians and two are firefighters, and none have injuries that raise fears for their lives.

More than a hundred firefighters were called to the scene and the fire was brought under control around ten o’clock at night.

The Red Cross provided assistance to three displaced families (12 adults and two children).
