A 43-year-old man was charged in US District Court in Madison this week 2 years imprisonment sentenced. He had pleaded guilty to playing with a laser pointer and also aiming it at an airplane. Specifically, he has the laser pointer on one Delta Airbus A319 directed, departing from Raleigh-Durham (NC).
The laser pointer hit just that Cockpit, which was extremely distracting for the pilots. They were supposed to be preparing for the landing of the machine at that moment and had received information about the new runway. Fortunately, despite the distraction, they were still able to confirm the new course in time and land the plane safely on the correct runway.
Pilots were severely blinded
But the Richter knew no mercy: The 43-year-old’s action was reckless and endangered the entire machine, according to a StarTribune report. According to the two pilots, the eyesight was impaired for several hours by the laser pointer because it was extremely blinding.
